Bishop of Masaka Diocese Graces BTI Celebrations – St. Charles Lwanga Technical Institute – Butende

The Bishop of Masaka Diocese his Lordship Serverus Jjumba was the main celebrant in a mass led at St. Charles Lwanga Technical Institute – Butende as the institution was celebrating four decades of existence in the technical education sector.

The institute was established in the 1982 after the 1979-80 war in Uganda, in which many families in Masaka Diocese were left homeless hence many children became orphans and needy! The leadership of Masaka Diocese thought it wise to start up a skills/vocational training school.

In his message to the students which in part reads:

My dear students, you are among the lucky few today who can earn by skill because as technicians you have been imbued with a special form of practical knowledge to simplify your life and that of others.

You will henceforth have many solutions in your line of specialization. You must be deliberate to attend to your job with such commitment to innovation, participating in the mandate we received from God to subdue the earth (Genesis 1:28) and be by the unique Eureka every day. Distance yourselves from the current youth mentality of Kagwiirawo which invades the youth today and is itself against all gains from valuables of the virtue of patience.

What matters as St. Teresa of Calcutta says is the love with which you accomplish tasks. That devotion will satisfy you beyond every form of material reward. This particular devotion, passion and loyalty to quality and good service to customers is the sole scent behind attracting inexhaustible demand and consequently abundant rewarding wealth.

He lastly wished the congregation fruitful celebrations.
