BUTENDE WESTERN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

BUWESA was started by Ntawenderundi Mathis in 1982 till now. The aim to start this club was to promote co-operation, oneness, togetherness among the students. The mission of the club is to promote western culture. Through most of the students thin that the association is for only western students, its just a lie because of the togetherness we have.

In BUWESA we promote democracy because each member is given a chance to participate e.g. being the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and many other active citizens of our country.

In BUWESA, we engage in farming like growing of Irish, onions and other crops. These are sold and money gained is used to enreach the needs of the club. We still have enjoyments in our club like traditional dances, tours to other schools and the western side of Uganda (mbarara and other parts).

Therefore we encourage members to join our club for the goodness of your life and gain even the fruits of BUWESA.

LEGION OF MARY

“Legio Marie”

Shalom to all my brothers and sisters the Emeralds readers. We all know that our marvelous club “the Legion of Mary” was found by Frank Dutt.

The club is all about being devoted to precious and great virgin mother MARY IS THE MOTHER OF ALL  the fact being that she accepted redeeming us by delivering the savior so she is the second Eva. Mother Mary is the only great mother that will directly link us to the son Jesus Christ. For all my brothers and sisters of the Legion of Mary club elsewhere. The fact that we are devoted to mother Mary we are bound to be committed to prayer more so during the holy month of the Rosary. We pray through our great mother that was conceived without sin.

To all my fellow students wherever u are, pray through the holy parents, for she is the best for the brain boosters because she is working wonders in St Charles Lwanga Technical Institute shown by academic excellence.

We not only pray but also to charitable work and helping the needy. Dear brothers and sisters we ought to pray get committed and love helping or neighbors in life. Loving and praying through the Virgin Mary, we shall move mountains.

She is the only right one to resent all our worries to the almighty to grant us his grace and patron us when we sin that is why we always say Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with you pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. AMEN

MUSIC DANCE and DRAMA

The club started in 2007 in Butende Technical Institute up to date with a student who compiled the school Anthem of BTI. Later students continued developing their talents. In 2020, there was an advertisement through use of visiting Parish M.D.D participation in drama which shows the significance of the technical education.

The group joined the education week of Masaka Diocese and participated in different activities and we won several times. As a result M.D.D has developed many artists in Uganda there by grooming responsible citizens.

Therefore I really wish a happy anniversary year to BTI and wishing her more years as she is producing important Ugandans all over the country BTI @40.

NEWS CLUB

I thought, I should expose glaring errors in the educational system, or compile a list of things I was taught which are palpably not true. For instance, in high school I made the mistake of taking Home Economics instead of Typing – we thought, in those days, that if you took the commercial course most of your eyebrows would come off and would have to be drawn on with a pencil for the rest of your life – where I was told that every meal should consist of a brown thing, a white thing, a yellow thing and a green thing; that it was not right to lick the spoon while cooking; and the inside of a dress seems as important as the outside. Of the three ideas, are false and should be discarded immediately by anyone who still hold them. This is the kind of world we find ourselves in, and it’s not pleasant. Faced with facts this depressing the question of the economy or how many of us in this country can afford two cars doesn’t really loom too large, but you’d never known it from reading the papers. Things are in fact a lot worse elsewhere, where expectations center are not on cars and houses and jobs but on the next exclusive meal. That’s part of the down side. The up side here and now is that this is still more or less a democracy.

You don’t get shot or tortured yet for expressing an opinion and politicians motivated as they may be by greedy and the lust for power are nevertheless or because of this still swayed by public opinion. The issues raised in any election are issues perceived by those who want power to be of importance to those in a position to offer it upon them. In other words, if enough people show by the issues they raise and by the way they’re willing to vote, they want changes made, when change becomes possible. You may not be able to alter reality but you can alter your attitude towards it, and this, paradoxically alters reality.

SCOUTING

Scouting is a game full of love, happiness and laughter. This club was founded by Burden Powell in 1912 and it was introduced in Butende Technical Institute in 2009. It has been standing from 2009 to date because of the administration’s support and student’s love and passion. The club has engaged in several scouting competitions where we have won several trophies, prizes and certificates. In this we thank our patrons, Mr. Louis and Madam Pauline for their support. Therefore, we congratulate Butende Technical Institute upon reaching its 40 th anniversary.

SERVICE is our motto

YOUNG CATHOLIC WORKERS MOVEMENT

Talking of a mass movement for change, we talk of Y-C-W-M that is based on creaming the lives of all kinds of people in a social and economic ways of life basically those that are living a life of difficulties.

As the good word of the Lord in Lamentations 3:5 portrays it that, it is good for a man that he bears the yoke in his youth, “meaning that the youth should be strong enough to achieve viable and clear visions if they are to promote prosperity for all while on earth and that is why Y-C-W-M, Butende Technical Institute comes out to also engage in charity chores, counseling where necessary and promoting self-worth and respect amongst ourselves.

Its on rampant that most youth are experiencing gullible incidents but we as Y-C-W-M are there to insinuate to you hope that you can make it a as long as you put God first in each and everything you do. It’s not a club of martinets but Democrats who feel sympathy against each other and doing their chores in a justifiable manner. On top of that, quietism pervades the club since we are a changing generation which is eager at welcoming any form of change for as long as it changes people’s lives from suffering to joy.

In a nutshell, we shall end by this food for the soul in PROVERBS 22:31 that goes,” By humility and fear of the Lord are riches, honor and life, ” Implying that what all goes bad into your life, we as

YOUNG CATHOLIC WORKERS’ MOVEMENT advise you not to worry that much for as long as you still breath, God is there for you and he has a very good plan for you. Keep making charity work basically to the old aged, the young, lame people and all kinds of people that may need your help. To you the youth, keep trying and never lose hope.

God bless us all.
