AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS – St. Charles Lwanga Technical Institute – Butende
MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

AUTOMATIVE MECHANICS

Fellow Ugandans it’s a belief in your minds that Technical Education is for failures, candidates who have performed poorly in all levels of education, but the question above can be answered by the questions below;

  • Do you think that a person saving you from the road when your vehicle has got a mechanical breakdown is a failure?
  • An electrician who saves you from the darkness by installing power in your well constructed house is a failure?
  • As your reading this article, am sure you’re seated on a chair (furniture) or a bed, that furniture you are enjoying do you think it was made by a failure?
  • You always enjoy showers, wash your hands and clean your teeth in wash basins, that’s plumbing work, is the person who installs really a failure?
  • Think of a person who constructs your mansion, the school buildings and other buildings you see, is that one a failure?
  • Look at the person who designed your Sunday suit, Christmas dress and your wedding gown and even what you put on everyday, is that designer a failure?

The list is very very long if I am to list all nobody else will produce an article in this magazine, but the work man ship above are all products of Technical Education which Ugandans think that is for failures!!!

I conclude calling upon all Ugandans that lets accept that we are already late, lets think twice and open up our minds before the sun sets, white collar jobs are very few these days in our country, and the only way to go is HANDS on skills.

Lastly but not least Technical Education is from Certificate up to Doctorate.
